Halloween Fun 2013

We had a Monster's University theme for Halloween this year. The idea was that Jackson would be Mike and Holden would be Sully. The big girls were all sorority girls and McKinley was Boo. Unfortunately Jackson decided he wasn't happy with the idea a little too late to change it. Here's the only picture I was able to capture of my 4 together at the BHLC Halloween party.
At least my sweet girls cooperated! Thanks so much to Grammy for making the fur skirts and feet and to Jordan and Rachel for doing all three girl's t-shirts. So cute! :)
 BHLC fun
The girls sure do love Zoe! :)
After the BHLC party our homeschool crew headed over to the nursing home to go Trick-Or-Treating. I'm including two pictures since Jackson refused to be in the bigger group photo op.

Love my sweet little Boo and sure appreciated Miss Leanna keeping her busy while I struggled with Jackson. :)

 The three sorority girls
Sully and his not so happy little buddy Mike
Does is it count as a group picture if we have Mike's costume?
As well as Heidi and Holden our best neighborhood buddies the Veloudis' and Skinners' came to join our fun. Unfortunately the weather was so bad on Halloween they cancelled Trick-Or-Treating in Lexington. We decided to have an impromptu Halloween celebration at our house anyway and the following night everyone came back so we could Trick-Or-Treat together. :)

Some of our Monster's University fun - thanks to Aunt Jolene for the molds

Happy Halloween baby! :)
Second night and ready to get some candy! :)
 Most of our crew
The plus to the weather being bad was Aunt Arla, Uncle Scott, Grammy and Grand-Dad were able to participate in our festivities the second night. Such a sweet picture of Miss McKinley and Aunt Arla :)
Part of Jackson's Mike issue was he decided he wanted to ride his dinosaur Grammy gave him shortly before Halloween. I have to admit this is pretty cute and fun, just didn't fit our theme! lol :)
Holden was a fabulous Sully though! :)
All the girls in our happy Halloween crew
Thanks to everyone who helped make our Halloween so much fun!

BHLC Field Day

While we're on the subject of school and fun days, I thought I'd do a catch up post from the BHLC Field Day we had in July. The day was beautiful and so much fun! As you can see from the pictures below the kids enjoyed an unlimited supply of shaved ice. :)

We were at a park but the main attraction was definitely the rented waterslide
Kennedy and her "big, big sister" Zoe sliding together

Our good friend, Tori, heading down the slide
Our fearless leader, Wendi, had fun going down the waterslide with her son a couple of times. What a great day! :)
Reagan enjoyed the slide too :)
More cute kiddos having lots of fun! :)
Waiting in line for the slide
There was a decent line at the other end of the slide waiting for the splash as well
The older boys did a pretty good job of not disappointing the throngs

Thanks to the BHLC and all its members for another great year! We're looking forward to the 2013/2014 school year and classes getting underway! :)

Girl Scout Camp 2013 - Day 2

I think this picture of the Daisies ready to canoe has to be one of the cutest pictures ever!!! I LOVE this picture and all these sweet little girls! I couldn't help but start this post with this picture even if it is a bit out of order. :)
Our day actually began with breakfast, prepared by the girls and it was quite the feast including eggs and a new favorite treat called "Dough Boys," among other things. To make a Dough Boy you take premade biscuits and wrap them around the end of your stick (which has tinfoil on it). You then bake it, roll it in butter and cinnamon sugar and you have a wonderfully tasty breakfast treat!

The Daisies all busy with their Dough Boys
Reagan and Kennedy with their completed Dough Boys
Headed to the lake to canoe

While we were down at the docks we had the opportunity to see this dragon fly emerge and dry out in the sun
Then we noticed the shells of the dragon flies were everywhere. Here are three who came out at the same time and played piggyback as the came out before flying away.
 Sweet Miss Nina
Kennedy walking with the big girls from canoeing back to camp for lunch
 Time for a swim!

We have several sister groups in our troop and I was able to capture a picture of most of them together in the pool. :)

Nina was a little unsure about the pool at first but was having a great time in no time at all! :)

Headed back to camp to pack up and get ready to go

Here is a picture of our crew of Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadets from our troop that were able to participate in our two day camp. They are such a great group of girls!

Thank you so much to everyone who organized and made this trip possible for all our girls. Thank you also to all of you who purchased Girl Scout cookies in support of our troop. Thru our cookie sales none of the girls had to pay for this experience and we appreciate that so much!
~
Thank you also to Ms. McKinley's birthday buddy, Lauren. I don't know what we would have done without her to watch my two little munchkins while Tim was at work and I was with the big girls.
What a great way to kick off a super fun summer! We look forward to many more wonderful camp experiences and memories at Camp Judy Lane!
